Cool Cities Initiative Your community may already be a “cool city”, but that's OK . . . imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Michigan Governor Jennifer M. Granholm is pushing a "Cool Cities" initiative to entice people to live, work and shop in hip urban centers. She set up a council to investigate what tools and resources local citizens think would be most effective, while recognizing that 25- to 34-year-olds as an economic force. They are people who need houses, medical care, clothing, books and everything else a community has to offer, and Granholm has said she aims to keep them from leaving the state.
