Independent External Review for Health Benefits Plans Act

Instead of giving patients the right to sue HMOs, this ALEC act establishes an “external review board” for the address of grievances brought by consumers regarding their health plan coverage.   

After “independent” reviews from groups like Arthur Anderson, we have learned our lesson:  When large amounts of money change hands, the review is not independent.
