Minimum Wage Repeal Act Paying a fair wage to workers costs big business a lot of money. ALEC, a group that recieves over $5 million a year from big business, has put out this less-than-model-bill to increase corporate profits and cut pay to workers. This legislation preempts local governments from enacting their own minimum wage laws. In the word's of ALEC, "State legislatures need the power to preempt local governments from enacting their own wage laws." For a group usually advocating local control and economic empowerment, ALEC seems to be . . . well . . .
