Background on MD Plan
In September 2001, the Maryland Citizens' Health Initiative released a draft plan for providing quality, affordable health care to all Marylanders. While the draft was the product of extensive work, we promised our organizational endorsers that we would work with them and our experts in health policy, economics, law, and community and public health to "fine-tune" the draft into an even stronger proposal.
We are very pleased to release the revised plan, A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP FOR HEALTH CARE FOR ALL MARYLANDERS. It is needed now more than ever as an increasing number of Marylanders are uninsured and underinsured. Many more are "one pink-slip away" from joining these ranks.
