Electronic Waste Over one half of one billion computers will be thrown away in this country between 1997 and 2007. As we enter the information age, this problem will only get worse, and states need to address this issue now. We will compile a package researching how state agencies might develop plans to sell, reuse, recycle or dispose of their old computers. We will also look at legislation that creates a recycling fund that awards grants to recycling programs, and bans landfill disposal of computers starting 2005.
